Dassa-Zoumè is perhaps Bénin's most peaceful destination — a town built among 41 dramatic granite hills that erupt from the surrounding savanna like sleeping giants. Deep within these hills are caves, grottos, and springs that have been sacred to local people for centuries.

Best Time to Visit
Dassa is beautiful year-round, but the August pilgrimage (around the 15th) is an extraordinary spectacle if you want to witness the largest religious gathering in Bénin. For peaceful hiking, November to March is ideal.
