Grand-Popo Beach
Grand-Popo is not a resort town. Its beach stretches for kilometres — wild, unspoiled Atlantic sand with crashing waves, dramatic sunsets, and not a sunbed or cocktail waiter in sight. At night, the stars appear over an ocean with no light pollution for 1,000km.

Grand-Popo is a working coastal community of fishermen and pirogue builders who have lived here for generations. Ewe and Mina fishermen still launch traditional dugout canoes into the Atlantic surf at dawn, much as their families have for generations.
Cultural Experiences
Grand-Popo is also home to Vodun practitioners and traditional ceremonies tied closely to the sea and the river. A local guide can help you understand and, where appropriate, respectfully witness aspects of this living spiritual culture.
